Maria Doman

As a Wayside Academy alumna, Maria spent her elementary and high school years at the school, and she is happy to now be able to give back to the Wayside community. After graduating from Wayside, Maria attended Trent University from ages 16 to 22, where she completed both her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and her Bachelor of Education, with teachables in Intermediate/Senior Mathematics and Visual Art. While she has always loved math, she also has a passion for creativity and enjoys spending her free time painting and drawing. As a Catholic, Maria's faith and love for God are an important part of her life. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to work in a Catholic school community and hopes to share her faith with her students by helping them grow not only academically, but also in kindness, joy, patience, compassion, and their relationship with God. She looks forward to creating a classroom where students feel loved, supported, and encouraged to live out their faith each day. Outside of school, Maria loves travelling and experiencing different parts of the world. She is fluent in both English and Hungarian and enjoys practising her language skills when travelling to Europe to visit family. She recently got married in Italy and travelled the world with her husband, which was an incredibly special experience and one of her favourite adventures so far! Maria is looking forward to bringing her love of learning, creativity, faith, and community into the classroom this year!
